Baron Healthcare provides an on-demand injury or illness virtual triage assessment as they happen.
Baron will ask targeted questions to quickly determine if an injury or illness is occupational or non-occupational and subsequently advise the need for first aid vs medical aid vs emergency care.
A Registered Nurse with Emergency Room and triage experience will triage the injury following the Complaint Oriented Triage - Canadian Triage Acuity Scale guidelines, classify the injury following Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers guidelines, advise on next steps and escalation of care (ie. watchful waiting, conservative treatment, clinic assessment, emergency assessment), and provide immediate injury and first aid management advice virtually.

The Registered Nurse will communicate with the client’s designated company representatives throughout the process.
A report will be generated and sent to designated company representatives following HIPPA guidelines. The Registered Nurse will maintain awareness and consideration of WCB policy while assessing injury and illness and advise the company’s claim management team on potential discrepancy in acceptance of a potential claim as relevant.
Virtual triage allows for immediate disposition on the injury or illness, allows for immediate implementation of modified duties mitigating lost time claims, and immediately reducing the cost of the injury or illness to the company in both the individual claim and company’s premiums.
Service hours are available 24/7 and can be bundled with our Injury Management service.
Company representatives will also have access to online booking to book assessment times when it is convenient for the company and worker in the case of non-urgent assessment needs.
